SHREWshr

Musical. Book, lyrics and music by Richard A. Barbie - with a little help from "The Bard."

Story

An irresistible parade of punch-lines and pratfalls is used to present William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Detailed stage directions describe a fast-paced collection of sight gags and physical business which tells the story in a language any audience can understand.

Through careful editing and skilful blending of modem and sixteenth-century idioms, the script maintains the humour, rhythm and flavour of Shakespeare's dialogue in simple and comprehensible terms. A sparkling collection of songs rounds out a delightful evening of theatre.

The original production of Shrew played to cheers and standing ovations from its audiences, but the cast loved it even more.

Cast: 6m., 6w., variable chorus.
