Shakespeare and the Indians
Musical. Book and lyrics by Dale Wasserman. Music by Allan Jay Friedman.
Synopsis
A young boy who survives a wagon train massacre is taken in by three rugged, rambunctious mountain men. The boy is the only one who can read, and the only book they have is a collection of plays by Shakespeare - and across time and space the Bard touches the lives of the boy, the Mountain Men and then the Indians! A missionary couple, without children, offers the boy a dramatic choice as to what his life will be - a choice in which the Mountain Men, the Indians and Shakespeare all have a part. With a thrilling store that includes the wistful "Who Is This Woman," the haunting "How Do You Know?" and the show-stopping "Ain't That Langwidge Though! " This is a special and utterly fulfilling show that catches a special moment in our experience.
